We, as educators and parents, must be seeking to sow HOPE into the futures of those we lead.

I have had a few long conversations this week with people who are either depressed or have been through a prolonged season of low mood. At the heart of their battles is a sense that there is no future, or that the future is dark. Low mood and depression are the cancer of our young people today, so schools and families must work hard with their children to engender hope.

I wonder whether a good place to start is to encourage conversation, reduce time on social media and to work on serving / giving to others.  We can do this and I was greatly encouraged to hear the ideas on T- levels in the news this week – people doing what they CAN do is so important. It’s a fight but let’s make this word, HOPE, a priority.
