Too many of us play 'not to lose.'

It feels appropriate with the US Masters starting tomorrow and having shuffled around a short course with my 7 year old son – to consider an interesting piece of golfing research. This research involved an 8 foot pett being holed more regularly for par than for a one under par birdie. Fascinating….
Are we more motivated by wanting to avoid failure? This experiment would suggest we are. Is this avoidable…can we be re-programmed? I think we need to work hard on engendering a thirst for success in those we influence. This is often hard to do and it’s certainly never a one size fits all approach that works.
am looking forward to Augusta already….I suspect it holds a special place in the hearts of many.
