This is the tail end of one of Winston’s great quotes and it’s been at the forefront of my mind since ‘results day’ on Thursday. I really do believe so passionately that failing and falling short is not a bad thing at all. One thing we must all learn is RESILIENCE. I believe that this crucial quality is learnt the hard way: in the refiner’s fire. So, young people who haven’t got the ideal set of grades – be of good cheer and respond to this setback holding onto Winston’s sentiments, as well as reflecting back with an eagerness to learn from past mistakes. It’s often in our darkest moments that the most valuable learning is done. It’s certainly not the end of the world!
