A linear look Vs An organic outlook

I have become a great fan of Sir Ken Robinson and his work ( Creativity in Education).
He summarises one of the main flaws of education by suggesting that it has become too linear. Schools and their staff are often working towards one end; academic progress. However, as we all know, there is more to life than our performance in a chemistry lab! It is a challenge for all of us who are working to develop young people to look deeper and wider and make it our chief goal to unearth what they have been put on earth to do.
I think the role of the tutor is more important than ever before and they must employ passive skills of listening and observation to work out where their pupils are in the ‘element’. It is their ‘element’ that sees them in that ‘God ordained space’ which enables them to walk tall and run free of all the perils that could ensnare them.
How can you move towards your ‘element’ this week?
