I believe this is at the heart of a good pastoral education. Conscientiousness needs to be noticed, applauded and rewarded. This will then breed a Confidence – the golden egg of education. We don’t stop at this point – with confident pupil we aim to develop a Compassion for others. Self-confident people with no compassion are not too attractive! Our final C is to work on and help our young people to make wise Choices. Occasionally young people need to live in / experience the consequences of making a bad decision. We must not be too controlling! The 4 C’s is a helpful framework for us to work with in this challenging world.
